A retired military officer with 22 years of distinguished service, Bruce Corrigan received five Navy Commendation Medals, three Navy Achievement Medals, two National Defense Medals, the Southwest Asia Service Medal, and other awards.
SiFu (teacher) Corrigan has been a dedicated student of martial arts since he was sixteen. After receiving certification in Judo and Tae Kwon Do, he turned to intensive study of Kenpo. Bruce also undertook intensive training in Kickboxing and the Filipino Kali system of Kuntaw Lima Lima.
In 1987, he was assigned in the Virginia Beach area, where he met Sifu Paul Vunak. Paul's philosophy of dynamic training inspired Bruce to study Jeet Kune Do-in addition to his regular training in Kenpo and Filipino Kali. Paul also introduced Bruce to the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Bruce is now a Black Belt in the GRACIE BARRA System of Brazilian Jiu Jits.
